One honest flag: Cowork isn’t baked into your flat Copilot seat. It’s pay as you go on top of your license fee — Microsoft bills each Cowork task in “Copilot Credits.” The more complex the task, the more expensive. No monthly allowance. Pure pay-as-you-go.

So set a spending cap and point it at the high-value work.

If you’re using Cowork as a glorified search box, you could just do that in Copilot and save yourself the pennies.

If your business is on Copilot and hitting walls, your seat very likely already unlocks Cowork — you just have to have an admin switch it on and turn on usage-based billing.
