The best AI-coded app is the one you don't have to build

The best app you'll ever "build" with AI is the one you don't build.

I watched my mentor and customer, Richard Raue, prove it in the middle of our AI training for his leadership team.

Someone on his team had a workflow problem and was already reaching for AI to solve it. Richard's smart instinct: "Hold on — can we get the tool we already pay for to do this?"

It could. One extra field, toggled on in their PSA export. No app. No agent. No project.

The best AI-coded app is the one you don't have to build.

I do the same thing all the time. For example, I automate scheduling for my short-term-rental cleaner — not with some custom AI build, but with Turno, an app made for exactly that. Turno is free and integrates natively with my property management system, Hospitable.

Here's the trap AI sets for smart people: it's so capable now that you're tempted to build a spaceship when you needed the bicycle already in your garage.

The move isn't "use more AI." It's "go one level deeper in the toolbox you already own — and reach for AI when that runs out."

That instinct is what makes Richard's team formidable with this stuff. Not the tech. The judgment.
